March 22 Say hi to Optimus he is 3 year old boxer/mastiff mix about 80 pounds. Very playful, friendly, likes to sit and cuddle. Help him to find a forever home!!

March 8 This is Jeb. He is a neutered male approx. 1 year old. He is very affable, gets along with dogs, cats and kids. Jeb was surrendered for doing what puppies do: they chew, need house training and manners. He needs a family who has time to work with him and have a lifestyle compatible with a older puppy.  If you do consider Jeb, I suggest he is introduced to children before he is brought home.

March 1 Lola is a senior dog who was surrendered because the elderly man couldnt take care of her. She is friendly, house trained, no health issues, sweet, still playful but is a couch potato also.

Remember, The SPCA is always in need of volunteers! You can go down and play with the animals, spend some quality time with them, and maybe even end up taking one home eventually!

February 8 Dante is a sweet little goober who is about six months old. He loves to play, chase bouncy balls and cuddle. Dante is super sweet and is very trusting and comfortable with strangers. He'll curl up in anyone's arms! Dante's brother got adopted a few days ago and Dante has been a little lonely, as he has a cage all to himself now. Dante loves to sit on hammocks and, unlike most kittens, he is very rather cautious and thinks about the calculations of his jumps he attempts any climb or balancing act. Dante would be a great cat to take to an office, as he warmly greets everyone he meets. He would also be a great cat to take for leash walks, as he is comfortable being handled and adjusts quickly to new environments. This sweet little boy would love to be your valentine!

February 1 Shamrock is a big, handsome boy who was featured last year but is still looking for his forever family. Shamrock got his name because of his beautiful green eyes. He would love a home where he can party for St. Patrick's Day. He gets along really well with other cats and loves to cuddle and play with the bouncy ball. Shamrock is very athletic and loves to climb around like a monkey and sit up high on perches. This sweet boy can't wait for a loving family to scoop him up and take him home. Shamrock is already neutered, has tested negative for FIV and FeLV and has all of his vaccinations.

January 25 Sebastian is a big handsome guy that was featured about a year ago and is still looking for home. He has FIV but is otherwise healthy. He likes spending time with people and loves the company of other cats. He is really good friends with Daiquiri, one of the cats he shares a space with in the lobby. He thinks he's the king of the FIV room and loves to sit up on his "throne" and look around down at everyone. Some people say it reminds them of the Lion King. Sebastian would love to find his forever family and possibly get adopted with Daiquiri or another one of the cats in the FIV room. Adopting more than one cat, (especially if they are already friends at the shelter), decreases stress and helps the get adjusted to the new environment easier. Won't you please come on down and get to known Sebastian and possibly one of his friends?

January 18 Charlotte is a really sweet senior Beagle who came to the SPCA a couple of months ago from a cruelty case with several other dogs. Despite having a rough life, Charlotte is full of positive energy, is incredibly gentle with people and loves life. Charlotte loves to go for walks, play in the snow and most of all-loves to eat!!!  Charlotte gets along well with other animals has an easygoing nature.  The SPCA does this on a case by case basis when older animals come in with medical needs. If you are interested in possibly fostering Charlotte or just want to come down to the shelter and give her a walk, feel free to come down to the SPCA anytime it is open. (Tuesday-Saturday, 12-5, Sunday, 1-4). Monday is the only day the shelter is closed.

January 11 Daiquiri is a really sweet cat who was featured in early 2018 but wasn't lucky enough to find her forever family that year. Daiquiri is extremely affectionate and loves sitting on laps and cuddle. She makes friends with people fairly quickly and has an outgoing nature. Daiquiri has FIV, which stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV causes a weakening of the cat's immune system, but many cats can live happy, healthy lives with FIV, especially if their living conditions are very clean and they have regular vet appointments. FIV can be spread from mother to kitten, and also from deep bite wounds from one cat to another. Humans, dogs and other species cannot get FIV. Daiquiri would do well in a home with another FIV positive cat(s) or as the only pet. She would love to have a big house to explore and a family that loves her.

January 4 Lola is a sweet lady who is approximately nine years old. Lola loves going for walks, riding in the car, and playing ball. She'll play with pretty much any kind of toy and loves to romp around and be silly. She would do best in a home with no other dogs or cats, but she has an excellent disposition with people, including children. Lola would love a home where she can be an important family member, go on adventures, and just be loved. Please come on down to the shelter and meet Lola. She's dreaming of a sweet, patient and fun family to spend the rest of her life with. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots.

December 28 Lila Beatrice is a super active girl who is almost 4 years old now. She was featured back in 2017 but still hasn't found her dream home yet. Lila Beatrice would thrive in an active home where she can go hiking, swimming, and play ball all day long! A home with a large fenced in yard would be great too, as she loves to run. Lila Beatrice would do best as an only pet-she has a prey drive around cats and can be quite picky about her dog friends, so for safety reasons, she should be in a home where she is the only pet. Lila loves people though, and is extremely willing to please. She has a few rambunctious tendencies, so a home experienced with high energy dogs would be ideal for her. She can't wait to begin a fun new life where she will be loved forever.

December 21 Romeo is a little flirt who is about ten months old. A couple good samaritans found him as a stray, got him neutered and vaccinated, then brought him to the SPCA. Romeo certainly lives up to his name, as he loves to flirt with the young female cats! Romeo loves people too and loves to play and cuddle. This guy has the need for speed and loves to play "catch me if you can" with people. Romeo's Christmas wish is to find a loving, permanent home that has plenty of rooms to run around in, structures to climb, and lots of toys! He would be extra happy if he could have he had playful feline siblings to enjoy share his home with. This little boy can wait to have a family that plays with him all day and a big, cozy bed to snuggle in at night. Please come on down to the shelter and meet Romeo.

December 14 RE-Introducing Honey Bear for the holidays-He is one of the most intelligent and fascinating dogs the SPCA has ever rescued. This adorable 4-5 year old Cattle Dog mix is shy, cautious, and a little defensive with strangers, but once he gets to know you, he loves you with his whole heart and soul. Honey Bear has the bad habit of wanting to chase cars, which can be very dangerous, so he would always needs to wear a harness and leash when going for walks. He would thrive in a dog experienced home with a guardian that knows how and when to safely introduce him to strangers. Honey Bear loves going for car rides, is very affectionate, and thrives on one-on-one attention and praise. This sweet boy deserves the best home in the world.

December 7 Adopted Herbie is an awesome cat that was featured last May when he was just a young kitten. He is about nine months old now and still at the shelter. Usually, kittens are the first ones to get adopted, but somehow this sweet boy got overlooked and ended up spending his kittenhood at the shelter. Herbie got vaccinated and altered and has been living in one of the shelter's cage-free rooms, Whisker Wonderland, but deserves so much more than that. He has his whole lifetime ahead of him and he would love to be an important, permanent member of a loving family. Herbie's wish for Christmas is that he can have a home with at least one other cat (he loves his feline companions) and lots of toys and climbing structures. He would really love a home with a fenced in yard that could be modified for cats so that he could spend some time enjoying the great outdoors safely. If you would like to give Herbie an amazing home, come on down to the shelter and meet him!

November 30 Monroe is a super sweet gal, not much more than a year and a half old. She came in as a stray in early November and loves everyone she meets. Monroe loves to play in the snow. She has tons of energy and jumps like a deer as she walks along. She would thrive in an active home with someone that likes to go hiking and and do active things. She would be really fun dog to do agility with. A home with a great big fenced in yard would be great, as Monroe loves to run like the wind. She will even play bow new people she meets! If you have another dog, you are more than welcome to come to the SPCA and do a meet and greet with your dog and Monroe. This dog can't wait to be someone's best friend forever!

November 16 Casey came into the shelter as a stray with his brother, Danny. Casey and Danny are about 12 weeks old now. They would love to go to a home together. Danny looks a lot like Casey and loves to sit in the hammock. Casey is very intelligent and very cautious for his age. Whenever he's climbing around and is uncertain of if he can make a jump or walk across something narrow, he always finds a smarter and easier way to get where he's going. Casey is a little affectionate but isn't overly impressed with people. That's why he and his brother need to find a loving home where they can have run around a big house and have a lot of fun playing with people every day.

November 9 Sansa is a charming little boy who is approximately 7 months old. He is very playful and loves chasing squeaky toys. He also likes to play hide and seek and will climb vertical objects and peek out from around corners. Sansa loves to lick people. There are different reasons cats may lick people, but generally speaking, it is a form of affection, often as a way to thank you for petting them and a way to bond with you. Sansa would do great in a home with other cats to play with. He may even enjoy a cat-friendly dog to play with. Sansa goal is to find a home for the holidays.

November 2 Jetta is approximately 2 years old. She was found back in 2017 hanging out around the Olean Airport. Instead of getting a ride on a plane to a wonderful home, she got a ride in a van to the SPCA. Jetta is friendly with people but might do good in a home with older children, as she doesn't hesitate to slap you if you are bothering her. Jetta loves to play with her toys. One of her favorite ones is a stuffed mouse. She likes to be held, but it has to be on her terms. She would do well as a only cat or in a home with a cat that likes to play. Jetta loves to pester other cats and is kind of like a human who stirs up controversy. She is quite a comical gal and would love for you to take her home so she can show you her antics. She is vaccinated and spayed.

October 26 Rem, also known as Remi, is the sister of Rex, a former guest of honor who just got adopted this week! Remi looks a lot like her brother, but has a little more white on her face. Remi is a very sweet and sociable kitty who warms up to people quickly. She is approximately 6 months old and has the prettiest tail of all the cats in Whisker Wonderland. Remi's favorite thing in the world is being with people, so she would do best in a big home with people and another cat(s) to play with. One of Remi's favorite things to do is to stalk hide and then land on your back or shoulders when you are not suspecting anything. She would be a great cat to teach how to walk on a leash, and she would love to learn some new tricks. She also would make a great office cat, given her love of people. This little gem is eagerly awaiting a forever home.

October 19 Dew Drop is about 10 years old. She came to the SPCA quite awhile ago. She came to the SPCA as a stray and is semi feral. It takes her awhile to warm up to new people, but she eventually does. Dew Drop loves the company of other cats and appears to be the matriarch in the cage free room, "Kitty Kingdom." Dew Drop would love a home where she can play with other cats and have a big house to run through and explore. She also loves wet food. Dew Drop would love to finally find a forever home, and would be extra happy if one or more of her kitty companions could be adopted with her.

October 12 Cedella is a really sweet young lady, (approximately 1.5 years old) who loves everyone she meets. Cedella was picked up as a stray last Spring and has somehow not found a loving, forever home yet. Cedella is a hound mix, and has a high energy level. She would thrive in an active home with a family that likes to go hiking. She also might like to try agility and nosework, as she is very smart and needs a home where she can keep her body and mind occupied. Cedella likes to play with other dogs, and would love to have a canine sibling to fool around with. Cedella is still mentally maturing, so she needs parents who are patient and can teach her about reward based training and interacting with humans. She is a great girl who is already spayed and up to date on her shots.

October 5  Adopted Sinbad is a super sweet 6-7 month old Siamese cat who was found hanging around a Rehabilitation Center in Hinsdale. Sinbad most likely had a home once because he is extremely sociable with people, including strangers. Sinbad loves to be held and also enjoys fooling around with other cats and playing peek-a-boo with the young kittens. Sinbad also enjoys the company of dogs and would do really well in a home with an extremely gentle dog that he can play and cuddle with. He's a little gem!

September 28 Adopted Rex is a super sweet little boy who is approximately five months old. He and his siblings were found on a back road. Rex is one of the friendliest kitties at the shelter and immediately becomes friends with anyone and everyone. Rex loves to cuddle and chase bouncy balls around Whisker Wonderland. He loves to play with the other cats, and even some of the crankier cats enjoy his company. He would do well in a home where he can get lots of attention and have lots of toys to play with. He is also extremely athletic and loves to climb and balance. In Rex's mind, everything is a jungle gym. He's neutered, up to date on all of his shots and ready to go home.

September 21 Adopted Drogo is a sweet little boy who is about 6 months old. He came to the shelter with his brother, Tyren, when they were fairly young and they grew up in foster care. They both are neutered, vaccinated and ready to find a forever home. Right now they live in a cage-free room called Whisker Wonderland. They love to chase little bouncy balls and they keep the older cats attentive and cheerful. Both cats love to cuddle. Drogo is a little more mature than Tyren, but Tyren is more playful and loves to wrestle. The shelter would love to find them a home together, but they can be adopted to separate homes. They both love other cats so they would do best where they can have another feline to play with. They both are confident with people and their environments, so they would be great cats to teach to go for leash walks outside.

September 14 Marvin is one of the newest arrivals at the SPCA. He would thrive in a home with lots of people to love on and other cats to play with. Marvin's ultimate dream would be to find a home where he can go outside safely (either by a cat-proofed fenced in back yard, and/or by going for leash walks). Then Marvin would truly have the best of both worlds. Please make Marvin's dreams come true and give him the greatest home in the world!

September 7 Talia is a really fun loving and gentle girl that was picked up as a stray. She is about 1-2 years old. Talia loves people and going for walks. She is an active girl but walks very well on a leash and has many calm mannerisms. We are not certain how many dogs she has been around and how well she gets along with them, but a medium-sized, easy-going male dog would be the best choice of dog friends/siblings for her. Talia would be a great dog take to take to a Canine Good Citizen class as well. She is one of the sweetest dogs at the shelter and would love to find a forever home.

August 31 Waffles is a sweet little girl who was found with her siblings behind a restaurant in Allegany when they were really small kittens and no mother was found. They lived in a foster home and were bottle fed, so they all think humans are wonderful. The cats are back at the SPCA now and ready to be adopted. Several of Waffles siblings already found homes, and Waffles hopes to next in line. She loves to play, cuddle, and would be a great choice for any home that wants a kitty to play with all day. Waffles is 17 weeks old, already spayed and up to date on all of her shots.

August 24 Adopted Cassie is a really sweet little girl who is about 15 weeks old. She loves to play with other cats and chase bouncy balls of all sizes, (even the ones that are bigger than her). Cassie is very outgoing for the most part, but occasionally she likes to hide in tiny corners or behind furniture when she gets overwhelmed. Cassie is already spayed and ready to go home. She would do well in a home with another cat she could play with. Young kittens often enjoy the company of other cats more so than older cats, so the shelter really wants her to have a home feline play mates. Or if you want to adopter her and another kitty, that would be great too!

August 17 Redd is a big and friendly Coonhound mix that has been at the SPCA for about a month. He is about 2-3 years old and is very energetic. Redd would do well with a very active family that likes to go hiking and doesn't mind his strength on a leash. (Redd could easily get lost following his nose off-leash, so keeping him on a long lead while going hiking is important.) Like most hounds, Redd likes to sniff the ground constantly and chase little critters (squirrels, chipmonks, etc.) He would do great in a nose work class. Although Redd is friendly with people, he would do best in a home without real small children, as he can be a little domineering. He would probably do well in a home with another dog, most likely an outgoing female. Redd recently got groomed and looks very handsome in his bandanna. Come down to the SPCA and meet him!

August 10 Macey is a very sweet kitty who is about 10 weeks old. She is very affectionate and loves playing and cuddling with people. Her favorite toy is a stuffed whale that sings and is almost as big as her. Macey loves to explore and would love a big house with lots of climbing structures. She also loves running through tunnels. Macey would do well in a home where she can have another young or playful cat to get into mischief with. She is extremely affectionate, likes to be held, and is very patient for a kitten her age. Please adopt Macey and encourage her to continue building confidence and enjoying life. She'd be a great cat to take to work.

August 3 Adopted Asher is an adorable, sweet little guy who is a little a lonely. He and his siblings all came to the SPCA as kittens. As they got older, each one of his siblings started getting adopted until he was the only one left! Daphne was one of his sisters! Asher can't understand why he was the last pick! He is very handsome, loves to cuddle, is extremely playful, and would thrive in a home with other cats, especially playful ones. Asher is still young and at a very impressionable age, so this would be the ideal time for him to begin learning new tricks, games, and walking on a leash. One of Asher's favorite tricks he likes to play on people is to untie shoe laces when people aren't looking! This adorable boy would is eagerly awaiting a loving, forever home.

July 27 Tigeroo is one of the sweetest cats at the SPCA. He's about a year old and still has that playful kitten attitude but is very mature and intelligent for his age. He likes to chase bouncy balls and pounce on moving strings. He would do well in an active home where he can run around and have a lot of toys to play with. He also would do great in a home with another playful cat(s). He is very high spirited and some of the older cats don't mind him quite as amusing as the younger ones. When they hiss at him, he he hisses back at them. Tigeroo also loves to cuddle on a couch and would a great lap warmer in the winter months. He may even like to watch T.V. if you have Animal Planet on. Tigeroo is already neutered, up to date on shots, and ready for loving, forever home!

July 20 Adopted This adorable little girl came to the SPCA as a stray from Randolph the day after the 4th of July. The staff named her Ariel.  When she is following a scent, there is no getting her mind off it. Ariel loves to howl like a typical Beagle and explore with her nose. She would be a great dog to take to work classes and she would love to go for longs hikes, but would need to go on long leash. No matter how important you are, the smell of other animals and nature interests her more! Ariel is very affectionate and would most likely do well in a home with children and other dogs. She's a really fun little girl who needs a lot of healthy, active outlets for all her energy and her high intelligence.

July 13 Adopted Abby is a super sweet little kitty who has every lovable trait you could imagine. She is cautious but confident, independent but affectionate and mature but very playful! Abby makes new friends very quickly. Once she realizes you have good intentions, she likes to nuzzle her face against you and purr. Her favorite blanket is one that has Simba and Nala from the Lion King on it. Abby loves playing with Earl, who lives in the cage beneath her, and the two of them like to throw punches at each other from different sides of the cage. Abby will be a fun cat to teach new tricks and introduce to new things. She is waiting for a special family to come adopt her!

July 6 Adopted Daphne is a sweet little kitty who is only about 10 weeks old. She is very gentle and likes being held, but her favorite thing is playing hide and seek and wrestling with her siblings. She would do really well in a home with another young cat that she can run around with. Her favorite toy is an plastic golf ball that she bats around. Daphne is very confident, but sometimes her tail gets very busy when she sees the dogs all start to bark at once. She's just waiting for someone to take her home and love her.

June 29 Adopted Earl is about 15 weeks old. He, his siblings and their Mom were abandoned in a Walmart Parking Lot. They are called the "Tea Family," meaning all the siblings have names associated with tea. After they were rescued, they went into a temporary foster home where they were very well socialized. Each of them turned into outgoing, confident cats who love people. Some of the siblings have already been adopted, but Earl, Grey and Rain are the last ones remaining. Earl loves to play and cuddle and purrs almost constantly. He would be a very lively addition a home. He is a tad bit shy around dogs, but could learn to love a calm, gentle dog if slowly introduced.

June 22 Adopted Max is only about a year old. He is very affectionate and will cuddle up in anyone's arms. Max would do really well in a home where he could play with another cat. One of his favorite things to do is to sneak up on the other cats, playfully hit them through their cage and then turn and run away before they know what's going on. Max can run at the speed of lightning, too! Max also love chasing strings, laser pointers and anything where he can pretend he's hunting. He would be a really fun cat to take to work at an office and he will make a really great pet. Once he gets neutered he's going to live in Whisker Wonderland with the other cats until he gets adopted. It's lots of fun seeing how different cats personalities change the social dynamic and behaviors of other cats in Whisker Wonderland.

June 15 Bagheera is a very handsome boy who is at least 8 years old. He is very affectionate and loves to be cuddle and be petted. A lot of times he gets passed by for younger kittens and cats. Bagheera has had dental work, a tumor removed, and has a heart murmur. Despite these complications, he is always in a good mood and gets around well for himself. Sometimes he is a little shy with new people, but he warms up quickly. Bagheera would do well in a quiet house but a house where he can get a lot of attention and love. If you're the type of person who likes to help special needs animals, Bagheera would be a great cat to adopt!

June 8 Adopted Sweet Thelma is a 6-7 year old Black Lab mix who was found out running in Olean with her suspected sister, former guest, Louise. Thelma is a really friendly girl who absolutely loves people and other dogs. She has a medium energy level and enjoys walks and swims but is not the type for jogging or three hour hikes. She may be the type that would love to ride in a boat. She certainly loves to ride in the car and will hop right in any time she sees an open car door. Thelma is very gentle and patient and most likely do well in a home with children. She is a quick learner, (when motivated by food), and she is very affectionate. Come on down and meet her and some of the other dogs and cats awaiting homes.

June 1 Herbie is a really sweet young guy who is just under a year old. Despite his young age, he has the maturity and behaviors of an adult cat. He's not too crazy about chasing bouncy balls or string, but he loves to explore and climb around. Herbie is very food motivated and loves Whisker Lickin's treats. He loves interacting with people and would love to learn new tricks with reward based learning. Herbie would do well in a home by himself or with another cat(s). He also would be a great cat to take to an office. He is very affectionate and loves to cuddle, but is also independent.

May 25 Adopted Louise has a heart of gold. She's a newcomer to the SPCA who was found running at large with her sister. Louise is approximately 8-9 years old and loves everyone she meets-people, dogs and other cats. Louise loves going for walks and makes many pit stops along the way to smell new things and learn about which other dogs have been there. Louise has a very innocent, trusting nature and is quick to want to cuddle up in new friends arms. This old gal is a gem and would be the perfect addition to a loving home.

May 18 Adopted Electra is a really fun kitty who is approximately 7-8 months old. She loves to play with bouncy balls, toy mice, and even a laser pointer at times. Electra loves people and is very sociable. Electra would be the happiest in a home with another cat(s) that will like to run around and play with her. She is a very confident cat and would most likely adjust quickly into living in a big house and making a lot of new friends. She is already spayed, up to date on vaccinations and ready to go to a loving home

May 11 Moose is a really sweet boy who is only about 8 months old. He appears to have some Hound, Pointer, Terrier, and a few other breeds in him. Moose has a very friendly disposition with people and children, and would probably do well in a home with another active dog(s) that likes to play. Moose loves to go for walks, play ball and play tug.  Moose would be a perfect dog to take to a Canine Good Citizens class or a Community Dog class. He is very food motivated, very willing to please and very excited to learn new things. If you want an active dog to have a lot of fun with and teach new things, Moose is your man!

May 4 Adopted Lady is approximately 12 weeks old. She is full of "kitten antics" which means every thing she sees is a toy, furniture is an obstacle course, and every one she meets is her best friend. Lady's favorite toys are a glittery ball that bounces and a pipe cleaner that mimics a little rodent. When Lady gets playing really hard after the floor has been washed, she sometimes runs in place. Lady is still small enough to fit in the palm of a large hand, but she'll be growing up quickly. She purrs loudly and loves to snuggle. Lady would love a home that will make a lifetime commitment to her.

April 27 Bob is an approximately 8 year old Cocker Spaniel that came in as a stray from Yorkshire. He is a very sweet boy who loves riding around in the truck, going for walks, and eating. He is very food motivated and loves snacking. He would be a really fun dog to do nose work with. Bob walks really well on a leash and has a medium energy level. He would be a great dog to walk if you have a motorized wheelchair or segway. Bob went to the Dog's Day Salon and got groomed, and looks very handsome in his bandana. If you love Cocker Spaniels and are looking for a sweet addition to your family, Bob would be the perfect guy!

April 20 Royal is a newcomer to the SPCA who absolutely loves people, other cats and making new friends. He is a really affectionate kitty who is approximately 6 months old and would like a home where he can get lots of attention. One of his favorite things to do is to ride around on his friends shoulders. His balancing skills need a bit of work, but he will cherish every minute with you. Royal needs to put on some more weight, and would really appreciate it if you gave him some tuna fish. (That's the unanimous vote of favorite food among the SPCA cats.) Royal is very clever and knows how to find ways to sneak food out of the other cats' cages while his cage is being cleaned. He would really enjoy some puzzles with hidden food. Given how comfortable Royal is with strangers and new environments, he would be a great cat to teach how to go for outdoor walks on a harness and leash. He would also make a great therapy or office cat. This little cutie pie appears to love everything about life and would love you to welcome him into your family!

April 13 Adopted Nebula is a really sweet young female that just recently came to the SPCA. She is extremely sociable and loves to cuddle and climb on people. Nebula is very playful and loves chasing bouncy balls and pouncing on strings. She is extremely athletic and is an outstanding jumper. Nebula's energy gets all the other cats excited. She wants to play with everyone, and she even gets the old and cranky cats acting silly. She would do great in an active home with other cats and people to play with. She'll need tons of toys to keep her busy!

April 6 Adopted Stripes is a little cutie pie who lives in Whisker Wonderland with a handful of other cats. Stripes is a little shy around new people and prefers that you sit down and let him decide when he wants to come over rather than you coming up and introducing yourself to him. He will nuzzle you and let you pet him, but too much interaction all at once overwhelms him, so he would do great in a home with someone who is experienced with shy cats and will give him the time and space he needs to get adjusted. Once this little guy warms up to you he will be your best friend. He also likes to play with his bouncy balls, but he won't play if he thinks people are watching. Once he knows you really well, he will play in front of you. This adorable little boy is so innocent and comical. He deserves the best home ever!

March 30 Adopted This adorable duo, Patches and Lucky came to the SPCA just about a week ago. They were surrendered when their former home could not afford to care for them. Patches is the white and brown dog and Lucky is the brown and black girl. The ladies are both very friendly. Patches is fairly confident and outgoing, while Lucky is more cautious and shy. They both enjoy going for walks and neither one is too fond of the food at the shelter. The SPCA would love to get these girls a forever home together. They are really good friends and look to each other for security and comfort during this confusing time of their lives. If you'd like to adopt the girls, come on down to the SPCA and make their dreams come true!

March 23 Adopted Francisco. this sweet, middle aged cat brings a lot of joy to everyone he meets. Francisco loves cuddle, play with toy mice, and just spend time with people. He loves to sit on laps and will quickly find a comfortable place on yours if you sit down. Francisco also loves having his belly rubbed and sharpening his claws on scratching posts. He would fit well into any loving home. He does have a cataract in his right eye, and came to the shelter with mites and mange. His fur is getting a lot healthier and he's waiting for a home where he will get lots of TLC. He also said to add that he loves belly rubs.

March 16 Adopted Canon is an adorable Bully Breed mix that loves everyone he meets. He is approximately 3 years old and loves to go for walks and play in the snow. (Although being a short-haired breed, he says he prefers a little warmer weather.) Canon gets along well with other dogs, and appears to like cats, too. He would love someone to play ball with, go hiking with, and to snuggle on the couch with. Canon has a very happy-go-lucky nature and makes everyone at the shelter smile. He would love a new home for Easter.

March 9 Adopted Ferdinand is a very affectionate and outgoing cat. He loves to cuddle, hang out, and play. He came to the SPCA not too long ago with a severe bowel obstruction and spent several days in the vets office before feeling better. He is doing a lot better now and is eagerly awaiting a loving family he can call his own. Ferdinand makes friends quickly and says he doesn't have any specific requirements for his new family besides that they love him unconditionally and make him an important member of the family. He will love to play with you, and would be a fun office cat, as he loves greeting new people and is very comfortable in new situations. He has a lot of love to give!

March 2 Adopted CJ is a very friendly older guy, (around 7-8 years old) who came into the shelter fairly recently as a surrendered dog. CJ is a sweetheart and warms up to strangers fairly quickly. The shelter is still learning about how he does with other dogs, cats, etc. CJ likes to go for walks and car rides, and has the nose of a Beagle, and the physical appearance of a Shar Pei/Chow/Some other breed(s) mix. CJ's hoping that his stay at the shelter isn't too long and doesn't turn into The Hotel California. Come on down and meet this sweet boy!

February 23 Daiquiri is an awesome cat that is friendly with every cat and human she meets. If she were a person, she would excel at a job in public relations. Daiquiri has FIV, but is otherwise healthy and lives in the lobby with her friends Mika, Claude-Henry and Sebastian. Daiquiri is not much for toys, but loves to sit on laps and purr. She should probably lose a few pounds, so she would do best in a home where she can run around and exercise a little bit. She says it's her dream to find a loving family, but in her wildest dreams, a loving family would adopt a few or at least one of her friends from the shelter along with her. This sweet girl is spayed and up to date on all her shots.

February 16 Shamrock is a real handsome guy with gorgeous green eyes. He lives in Whisker Wonderland and roams majestically around the room. He likes to sit up high and get an aerial view of what is going on in the cat world. Shamrock's good looks and confidence make him very popular with the female cats. Shamrock would love a home with other cats. He is friendly but somewhat reserved around humans; he has to get to know you really well before he shows a lot of affection, so he would do best in a home that enjoys this type of personality and gives him all the time in the world to settle in. If you have a female cat(s) at home, they would be thrilled if you brought his big boy to your house!

Friday February 9 Adopted Nanook is a really sweet boy who is about 6-8 months old. This kitty is very intelligent and playful. He loves jumping on counters and climbing up anything vertical. Nanook also loves to stalk and chase yarn, strings, and leashes that are mysteriously moving along the ground in front of him. Nanook is a very outgoing kitty and loves to be petted and cuddled with. He would love a home with another playful cat where he can have someone to horse around with all day. This little guy would love nothing more than a family to give him tons of love and attention for the rest of his life.

Friday February 2 Penny Pea is a really sweet girl looking to find her forever family. She is about 4 years old and very sociable with people. Penny Pea is not too fond of other cats, but is very confident around dogs and would mostly likely do well in a home with friendly and gentle dogs. She is currently on a diet, (she says it's a New Year's Resolution), and a big house to run around in with bouncy balls to chase and lasers to pounce on would be just the thing to help her get in shape. Penny Pea gives a lot of "love bites" which are gentle bites that do not break the skin and generally do not hurt much. Penny Pea is a spirited gal would will bring a big smile to any cat lovers face!

Friday January 26  Honey Bear is one of the most intelligent and fascinating dogs the SPCA has ever rescued.

Friday January 19 Adopted Petey is a really sweet middle aged Pit Bull mix. He is a very gentle boy who loves going for walks, riding in the truck, and eating treats. He is not a fan of the cold weather and would love someone to snuggle up on a couch during these cold nights. Petey came to us with a suspected neurological disorder that caused a head tilt. He was treated for ear infections and other potential causes of a temporary head tilt, but his head tilt remained. Petey is otherwise healthy to the best of the shelter's knowledge. Petey would do best in a home without other pets. He is a very friendly boy with people and would love a place to call his own.

Friday January 12 Duce! ADOPTED 4-5 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix is an absolute sweetheart. He loves kids, other dogs, and appears to enjoy cats as well. Duce is a really gentle soul who enjoys going for walks, playing ball, and riding in the truck. He would be a great choice for anyone that would like a well-behaved dog to take work, and/or a dog to get a Canine Good Citizen Certificate with. One of the cutest things about Duce is he has the spirit of a puppy and the maturity of an older dog...an awesome combo! Help Duce get his 2018 kicked off to a good start by finding a loving, permanent home.

Friday January 5 Twister is a friendly but bashful adult male cat. He lives in Whisker Wonderland with his brother, Cyclone, and a handful of other cats. Twister will be your best friend in the world if you give him time to warm up to you. Twister came to the shelter as an adult cat and appeared to have little socialization with people. While he likes to be petted, he is still overwhelmed by being picked up. He would do well in a quiet home with other cats for him to play with. He shows his playful, outgoing nature with other cats, but puts his guard up more around people. Twister is neutered, up to date on shots, and ready to go to a loving home.

Friday December 29 Adopted Jingles was the SPCA's last cat to arrive at the shelter before Christmas, and that's how he got his name. This sweet boy was found wandering around outside in really cold temperatures and had no apparent home or collar to identify that he belonged to someone. Jingles is a very sweet cat who loves to cuddle and warms up to new people very quickly. He also has a big appetite and love to eat Whisker Licken's and other cat treats. He would do great in any loving home. He's getting neutered in early January, but then he'll be ready to go to a forever home.

Friday December 22 Adopted Bella is a sweet middle-aged girl who found herself homeless when her family moved and couldn't take her along with them. Bella has a extremely loving soul and makes friends quickly with everyone she meets. She loves going for walks and car rides. Bella loves to act goofy and will play bow you all the time in the play yard and will try to get you to play tag with her. This sweet girl would do well in a home with children and would probably do well in a home with another dog. Usually but not always, opposite gender dogs with the same energy level and play style get along the best. Bella would love to start 2018 off in a loving, forever home. If your looking for one sweetheart of a dog, Bella is your girl!

Friday December 15 Adopted Ragnar is a new arrival at the SPCA. He was found wandering around outside and no one in the neighborhood claimed him as their own. Although he lived as an outdoor cat, (at least for a little while) he is not feral at all and loves everyone he meets. He also loves to cuddle and enjoys munching on Whisker Lickin' cat treats. Ragnar was used to quite a bit of freedom, so we hope to get him adopted quickly into a loving home where he can run around a big house. This boy would love a forever home once he gets neutered. If you want to help Ragnar but cannot adopt him, you can pay for all or some of his neuter surgery. Once he gets neutered, he can join a cage free room with other cats.

Friday December 8 ADOPTED Chaos is a very friendly adolescent cat. He is the brother of Havoc, a Furry Friend Friday alumni who is still looking for her forever home as well. Chaos and Havoc came to the shelter when they were rescued from the engine compartment of a truck when they were really small kittens. They got their names because they were feral at the time and gave their rescuers a run for their money. After receiving lots of love and attention from humans at the shelter, Chaos and Havoc became very gentle and sociable, and no longer live up to their names. They both love to cuddle and will come over to you if you call their names and pat the ground. Chaos would do well in any loving home. It would be even better if he and Havoc could get adopted together. They are fixed and up to date on vaccinations.

Friday December 1 ADOPTED Bindy is a sweet little girl who came in as a stray. She could be around 6 years old or older. I cannot say enough good things about Bindy. She has a very sociable, loving, and patient nature with people. She is gentle with strangers and allows them to hold, brush, and take photographs of her. Bindy is a great choice for someone who enjoys going for walks, trips to the park, etc. but doesn't want an extremely high energy dog. By the looks of her body, Bindy has had some litters of puppies. Bindy appears to have Pug and Chihuahua in her, possibly some other breeds as well. She is a great little girl who would love a home for Christmas!

Friday November 24  ADOPTED Azula is a beautiful gal who is approximately 1 year old. She is very affectionate and warms up to strangers quickly. She seems quite fascinated with people and loves to snuggle, climb on shoulders and sit on laps. Azula purrs as loud as a bobcat or mountain lion. Unlike the type of cats that are aloof and unimpressed with people, Azula is ready to learn new tricks, figure out new puzzles, play new games, and trot along by your side as you go about your day. This sweet kitty would do well in a home where she gets a lot of attention, play, and interaction.

Friday November 17 ADOPTED Gert is an approximately 10 year old American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She was found out roaming in Olean with another dog, Texas. Texas got adopted, but Gert hasn't been as lucky. Gert is very friendly with people and loves to go for walks and car rides. She also loves snooping in the SPCA food room and seeing if she can find any dropped treats or partially opened bags of goodies. Gert's friend Mimi took her to get a doggy makeover at the Dogs Day Salon, and Gert came back smelling of perfume at wearing a bandanna. Despite getting along well with Texas, Gert is not a fan of most of the other dogs at the shelter, and should be the only pet in the home for safety reasons. If you don't have any other pets and would like to welcome a sweet, older gal into your life, Gert would be perfect! She deserves a warm, loving home to live out the rest of her life!

Friday November 10 Adopted Frankie was found on a back road in Ischua. He is approximately 7 years old. He is very gentle and sweet with people and he appears to want to get to know the other dogs. Frankie enjoys going on walks and he loves getting cuddles and praise from his human friends. One of Frankie's biggest "tricks" is to be able to fall sound asleep on his Kuranda bed while all the other dogs are barking. We think Frankie might have some separation anxiety judging by the way he howls after going back into his kennel for a walk...but who can blame him? Being outside and alone in this weather would give anyone separation anxiety! Frankie would do great with a retired couple or a home where someone is usually home. He enjoys riding in the car, too. Frankie loves that he is being treated so well at the shelter, but he's not sure where he is or why he's there. He's hoping someone will take him for Thanksgiving so he can have the loving, permanent home he's always wanted.

Friday November 3 ADOPTED Despite her name, Havoc is a really sweet kitty!

She is approximately 1 year old and loves to be held. Havoc lives in a big room with other cats called "Whisker Wonderland," where she is well liked by the other cats. Havoc has a very outgoing nature with people and warms up quickly to strangers. Havoc has a brother named Chaos, who is every bit as sweet as she is. Havoc is spayed, up to date on her shots, and would do great in any loving home!

Friday October 27 This big boy's name is Sebastian. He's somewhere between 5 and 10 years old and and is very friendly. He has feline immunodeficiency virus, (FIV) but is otherwise healthy. Sebastian loves to climb furniture and cat "trees," and he loves hanging out with other cats. He lives in the lobby with a handful of other FIV positive cats, and he loves fooling around with Mika, (the pretty orange tiger girl.) Sebastian is also friends with Claude-Henry. While they don't have to be adopted together, it would be awesome if they were. Some of the cats at the shelter form really close bonds with onte other and going home with a friend makes the transition at lot easier. Sebastian's friendly and easygoing nature is contagious, and he would love a family to call his own and a big, (or small) home to run around in.

Friday October 20 Adopted Hermes is a little cutie pie that was found running at large in Olean. He came to the SPCA in mid September. He is a little shy but warms up quickly and is very sweet. We think Hermes is about 1-2 years old
